How to use WBF cut in run_card

Asked by Tim Lu

Hello,
Sorry I don't know how to use WBF cut in run_card when I wanted to run VBF process.
I don't know what is the difference between " xetamin " and " deltaeta " and the proper value for it ?
Thanks a lot !

Best,
Tim

Hi Tim,

-The xetamin cut is applied on the two hardest jets and ensures that
*the eta of each jet is larger then xetamin
*the eta signs are different (to make sure they are oriented to two different longitudinal directions)

-The DeltaEta is also applied on the two hardest jets, and ensures that
* the eta difference between the two hardest jets rapidities is larger than deltaeta.
* the eta signs are different (to make sure they are oriented to two different longitudinal directions)

Both cuts give a slightly differerent description of how to select VBF cuts, the choice and value to consider is really up to you, since it depends of what you are looking to.

Hope this helps

Simon
