HepMC output from MG5-pythia6 ?

Asked by Chris Wymant

Hi,
I'd like to get HepMC output from the linking of MadGraph and pythia, in order to be able to use rivet afterwards. Is this possible? I've downloaded ConvertStdHep
http://cepa.fnal.gov/psm/stdhep/
for converting to HepMC format,
but can't get it to install - not with the latest version of HepMC nor with older versions.
I wondered if there's an option in the MadGraph's pythia input card for this...
Thanks
Chris W

Hello Chris,

As far as I know, there is no other way than to use the converter, since HepMC is C++ based and STDHEP is Fortran based.

All the best,
Johan
