Rivet analysis in MadGraph5/aMC@NLO/Heriwg++

Dear MG5 developers,

I'm trying out the recently released v2 beta. I would like to let Herwig++ load a Rivet analysis I wrote. In this case, I could avoid writing all the events on disk and just keep the histograms.

I cannot find any option in the card file to do that: I see one for standard H++ analyses, but not for Rivet ones. In the case it's not really there already, I think it would be a quite useful extension.

thank you for your feedback.

In principle it should be possible to include quite generic analyses by editing opportunely
the variables EXTRALIBS, EXTRAPATHS, INCLUDEPATHS, and ANALYSE in shower_card.dat.

However, if this does not work for your Rivet analysis, it is possibly due to the fact that the
Scripts that read the analysis information in aMC@NLO are not yet general enough.
We have anyway to make them more flexible.

It would be useful if you could provide me with some information on the structure of your
Rivet analysis, so that I can understand why the code does not work for it and how to extend
the scripts.
