Asked by John

Hi,

I am using the ubuntu and installed g77 from this link,

http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/g77-3.4

When enter madevent command, I receive

"No Fortran Complier detected....please install one"

Do I have to do something after installing the package?

Hello John,

We would in general recommend gfortran instead of g77. However, regarding the present question, did you try writing
which g77
?

It sounds like you need to add the directory where g77 was installed to your PATH environment variable.

Cheers,
Johan

Hi John,

What happen in a shell if you do
which g77?

If this commands works then MG5 is suppose to find it.

Cheers,

Olivier
