PYTHIA set up -- invalid

Hi,

This type of error means that you have a compilation error did you
compile pythia on the same computer/architecture?
My suggestion is to go to the pythia-pgs directory
do:
make clean
make
and then retry.

Another possible problem is if you don't have enough RAM available.
How much do you have? (less than 1Go might be critical)

I am using lpc machine because of this i have area..I did what you said but i meet the same problem...

Hi Kangal,

Which compiler did you use?
If you call the program by hand:
./pythia-pgs/src/pythia
Do you have any output on the screen?

Are you running in single machine or did you use a cluster/multi-core?

Did you try to use MG5 instead of MG4 (I strongly suggest to use MG5
instead of MG4)
If yes did you have the same error?
Which version of pythia-pgs did you use, the latest version might not
be compatible with MG4 anymore.

If you have a problem, the first thing to do is always to upgrade to the latest versions of all software. We can not give support on long-outdated software versions. Please run with the latest version of MadGraph 5, and with the latest version of the Pythia-PGS package.
