link output of Madgraph5 with ROOT

Dear All
How i can link the output pythia8 file of MadGraph5 with ROOT data analysis library
Such that i can use ROOT commands inside output pythia8 file from MG5
beacuse when i write the root commands in output pythia8 file from MG5 and then use the command:
make -f Makefile_sm_1
Give me error due to use ROOT' commands

I believe there are examples in the root-examples directory for how to connect Pythia 8 and ROOT. If you have questions, please refer to the Root online forums.
