what are the amarok and xine packages for?

Asked by rRunner

I've added the medibuntu repositorys to install the DVD encrypting codecs. Apt showed me updates for amarok and xine after I've added the repositorys, so what is the difference between these other versions and the versions which are included in the standard Ubuntu servers? Because I think that they are causing problems in connection with fglrx, but I am not sure yet.

The only difference should be that they have support for restricted formats compiled in, whereas the standard ubuntu packages do not. However, looking at the repositories, I don't see packages for xine or amarok in medibuntu if I (using synaptic) filter by origin.
