the installation of googleearth to ubuntu 9 i386 stops at 45% and stays there more than a full day

I used the Packet-Installer - googleearth - i386

the procedure starts correct and then stops under the middle (ca. 45%)
I can wait more than a day - no chance - it stops there all the time

Ubuntu
Version 9.04 (jaunty)
Kernel Linux 2.6.28-11-generic
GNOME 2.26.1

Hardware
Speicher: 244,9 MiB
Prozessor: AMD Duron(tm) processor

works for me, can you try to dl directly with wget (just to ee if the download success) :
wget http://packages.medibuntu.org/pool/non-free/g/googleearth/googleearth_5.0.11337.1968-0medibuntu8_i386.deb

What's your average bandwidth ?

my bandwith is DSL 6000 TELEKOM
the PC is an older one
1300MHz AMD Duron 250MiB

Hello Maxence,

I do the way you have given to me.
In the same way it starts normally and then stay on a point over a long
time.
See screenshots I've taken with exakt time in the name of the files!
I go to bed and let the PC in this situation
