Is Acroread Missing From Repository?

Asked by Charles E. Boston

Hi there,

I would just like to know if acroread has been removed from the repositories? I currently have Ubuntu 8.10 installed and I am not able to install acroread from Synaptic of the command line. I know that there are other applications that will allow you to read PDF files but I must have acroread. I am taking some courses and the text books are often provided in digital format. They are encrypted files that were created in Adobe Acrobat. In order to access them I must enter a user name and password. Anything other that acroread only allows me to enter a password. There is no user name field. Is there any information that can be shared? Thanks...

Charles

I think that I found my answer. The acroread application is now available in the Canonical Partners repository, correct?
