Answer: In addition to the DE9 connector that will take up to four switch inputs directly from a powered wheelchair, the Tekla Shield (http://scyp.idrc.ocad.ca/projects/tekla/the-shield) also includes a dual switch connector that takes up to two standard 1/8" or 3.5mm external switch plugs. Most ability switch manufacturers use this type of plug so you can use the Tekla system with a range of switches such as push button, sip & puff, tongue switches, etc...
