How do I get out of the screen lock mode without swiping the screen?

Answer: The Tekla Shield (http://scyp.idrc.ocad.ca/projects/tekla/the-shield) is able to wake and unlock the handset on every switch event. This works if no unlock pattern or password has been set on the handset. On manual activation however, the handset will work as usual (unlock screen will be presented for the user to swipe).

There is a way to prevent the screen lock mode by setting the screen to stay always on, but given the ability of the Tekla Shield to wake and unlock the screen, there is no need to do so.
