Is there a way to make HD channels work

I'm using MeTV in 64bit Ubuntu Karmic.
I'm using it to receive DVB-T in Australia.
SD channels work perfectly. HD Channels choke and stop/start lose sound etc.
TV reception is not an issue these channels work fine in Kaffeine.
Any idea why this may be?
