Sound problems
Hi, i've just installed and configured Me TV. Video is ok but i'm getting no sound whatsoever. Xine's got no sound either. Rythmbox and Totem have no sound issues. I've tried changing Xine's audio driver in Me TV's preferences with no luck.
Any ideas?
Thank you so much.

Hi, Just a few questions back at you!
What version of Me TV are you using?
What Linux distribution are you using?
and any other detail of system etc would be handy as well ;)

That's fine! ...
Ok the version that is in the universe repositories for Jaunty is old!
so it would pay to update the the latest version available. Take a look
at ... https:/
version 3.0 this makes things a little easier for the user! ... see that
there is some big green boxes on the right hand side they have the
packages I built for this project! (I assuming you are using i386 and
not amd64) click on this
http://
This newer version uses a custom xine engine so there is no longer the
need for xine! Hopefully this resolves your issue... Let us know how
you go :)

I followed yous instructions with no luck...no sound yet. Also, now i'm getting this message "Failed to find PMT ID for service" on some channels which wont work now.

The quick fix for that is to delete all your channels and do a rescan.
if Me TV ever misbehaves badly, just either rename or delete ~/.me-tv
this will remove all setting to start afresh.
also double check to make sure that the sound card you are using is
selected in your system settings (if you have multiple cards)
I have to admit that I'm having some issues with pulseaudio in that some
things will play sound and some wont! the only fix I have found thus far
is a reboot when it happens! (very annoying!)

Thanks Scott Evans, that solved my question.

For the channels that you lost it could just be that they are marginal and
at the time of scanning they were not picked up. As a guide DVB-T signals
need to be between 60%- 90% for optimum reception.
