Incomplete scan result

Asked by denik

The Me TV scan wizard only finds 10 of 22 channels. If I use the command "scan" instead, I get all of them.
So I have to import the channels.conf of "scan" to watch all channels in Me TV.

Does the scan wizard have a too high signal-level threshold?
Although, the not found channels have almost the same signal quality (~88%) and noise level (~55%) like the found channels.

I use Me TV 0.10.2

I don't have an answer for this. The scanner has always worked great for me. Althought the Me TV scanner is convenient, it's not as good as the one from the scan application. If you would like to get this working properly you could help me by joining #me-tv on FreeNode. No pressure, it's your call.

I don't think that this issue is related to signal. There are certain DVB packets that can tell scanners to pick up other transponders. I don't think that this feature is working correctly in Me TV but I have no way to test it.

Thanks,

Michael

A longer scanning time solved this Problem. Thank you, Michael, for this hint: "please run `me-tv --read-timeout 15`"

Just to clarify, this was solved by increasing the read timeout to 15 seconds. This is now the default as of 0.10.3.
