I can't add any channel to me-tv

Asked by manel

Hello, i've just upgraded to ubuntu jaunty and since then i have lost all the channels.
I can't use the scan wizard:
  - On the "by location" option i get the following message: "no such file o directory".
  - On the "select a file to scan", i don't know where to find this kind of file
  - On the "": i've tried to create a channels.conf file with the w_scan utily but Me-tv is unable to import it.

So, what can i do?

system: Ubuntu jaunty
Me-tv: 0.7.16

PS: Sorry for my poor english
PS2: Congratulations for this excelent program. I love it!

Please install the dvb-apps package. Does that help?

I did a fresh install of 9.04 on my eee-pc.
I have suffered the same Problem described above: "by location" was empty.
After reading Michael's post I installed dvb-apps. I can now choose country (de) and region (Kassel).

But....I get the following message after initiating the scan: <<Could not find a value for ">> (Konnte keinen Wert für ")

There was no such strange error message when I scanned on other cities such as Berlin, Bielefld etc. (Of course me-tv did't find any channels there.)

Just to make sure my firmware still works in jaunty I installed Kaffeine and libxine1-...
Kaffeine works fine with DVB-T. I had no problems with me-tv in 8.10 neither. :(

If I look in ~/.me-tv there are no files I could check except a db.

What else can I try?

Please install the latest, https://launchpad.net/~me-tv-development/+archive/ppa. That error indicates that there's an issue with the initial tuning file or Me TV's initial tuning file parser. Let me know if it still happens after updating.

Take these 3 lines, put them in a file and see if it works. I think the issue is the extra whitespace. I'm yet to find a file format specification for the initial scan file so I don't know what's right.

Bingo!

I tried before by using tabs instead of blank with no success.
Formatting matters!

Thank's a lot Michael.
