Description in EPG not long enough

I use MeTV 0.7.15 in Ubuntu 9.04. TV card is a noname USB device using dvb_usb_af9015.

In EPG only the first 253 characters are shown. Here in denmark (europe) most descriptions are longer. I don't know how much longer... ;-) but longer. Could you increase the buffersize or something?

Maybe. I have not used MeTV so much lately. I think I have had longer descriptions in earlier versions (0.4, 0.5 or 0.6?), but I am not 100% sure.

The current length of the description column in the database is only 200, I guess that is the issue. But this is not consistent with your observation of 253 channels. How did you come up with that number?

I did copy/paste the description to gedit and used its character counting function. I tried with several program descriptions, and all had the same number of characters.

But today there are no problems! I get all the description, some longer (408 chars/416 bytes) and some shorter. I have seen descriptions being cut off before, but have not bothered to write to you about it. Maybe it is the an error in the signal? I guess digital TV is still in an experimental state here in denmark, so maybe they just don't know what they do... :-)

There's a subtle difference in your tests, EPG events loaded OTA should have a full description. Once they are stored and loaded (via application restart) they will be truncated to 200 characters.

Well, okay. I don't understand why I had 253 chars yesterday.

BTW, why are they truncated to 200 chars?

Yes, 253 is an odd number. Why 200, it was just an arbitrary value that I picked. I've set it to 1000 now, Hopefully that should fix it.
