I don't know if you are familiar with our channels but it misses Prime & SBS ( the same device finds these channels using WinXP )

Hi Les,

I'm in Canberra and yes, I know about PRIME and SBS. Try using the 'scan' command line application to see if it produces the same result. If so, you might be looking at a more general issue with your DVB setup under Linux. If not, I can look into it for you.

I think that most of the tuning parameters are the same/similar in Australia. Me TV is only able to scan using one of the initial tuning files.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael

Thank you for your quick response :-)
Forgive my ignorance but I am new to Linux and trying hard to break the
DOS & Windows habit.
how do I scan at the command line ?

My Apologies , I was not sure where you were, but did assume you were
an Aussie.

Thank you for trying to make Linux more usable for us idiots

Cheers
Les

See http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Scan

I'm just trying to make Linux easier for my wife so I don't have to shell-out for Windows. Everything else is a side effect ;)

Hi Michael
thanks for the info , by the time I worked out how to install the
program then found what command it used ( scan )
I have given up for the time being ( migraine headache ) :-( may
get back to it later when the head clears
Please keep up the good work ( for us dumb idiots ) ;-) Your program was
the only TV program that found the usb TV Walker Cruise ( by LifeView)
which must use Phillips TDA10046H DVBT chip, without me having to alter
some .conf file I can't find :-[
and as for the channels I am lead to believe it is to do with the
polarization of the TV stations antenna SBS & Prime are Different.

Once again thanks for your time and work
Cheers
Les

Let me know the results when you've completed a scan.

Hi Michael
I have sorted the problem with Prime & SBS Taree ( with the help of my
Friend Michael May )
the Problem is the frequencies
Prime should be 198.63 not 198.5
SBS should be 205.625 not 205.5

Hope this helps
I will email you later with a list of Australian Digital Frequencies (
but I found that SBS was wrong )

Cheers
Les

I don't see a list however, you're telling the wrong guy. Those initial tuning files are not mine, they are from a package called dvb-apps in Ubuntu/Debian.
