Recording off sattelite reciever

Hello,

   I am using an older Pinnacle 801e HDTV USB stick. While it works great for over the air TV reception via the antenna, I am unable to record anything that I have previously recorded on a DVR using the side mini-USB connection. It is possible with this device and Me TV? I know it is possible with the Windows software that came with the unit, but I wish to stick with Linux.

Me-TV is only for over-the-air tuning. It does not capture video from other source/input.

There is other video software that can do that. Probably that Kdenlive is a good place to start:
