blank picture

Asked by djk4883

I recently upgraded my media pc and linux mint 17. Installed me-tv and no picture?! It records, so the hardware and configurations setup is ok. I've kind of ignored it, but it's bothering me. I've found the same issue in the bug list from over a year ago https://bugs.launchpad.net/me-tv/+bug/1179606 .
from launching me-tv-client -v I get the following:
[00007fd834000c88] filesystem access error: cannot open file /home/dj/udp://@0.0.0.0:2005/ (No such file or directory)
[00007fd834000c88] core access error: File reading failed
[00007fd834000c88] core access error: VLC could not open the file "/home/dj/udp://@0.0.0.0:2005/" (No such file or directory).
[000000000100d068] core input error: open of `file:///home/dj/udp%3A//%400.0.0.0%3A2005/' failed
[000000000100d068] core input error: Your input can't be opened
[000000000100d068] core input error: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:///home/dj/udp%3A//%400.0.0.0%3A2005/'. Check the log for details.

One suggestion was to install libvlc-dev but that didn't help me. Any chance I can get me-tv working again?

Thanks for the reply, as I understand you may not not be actively developing me-tv... so thanks.

I found that report. As I understand, a) I can compile me-tv with a patch myself or b) revert to the old version 1.3 in the repositories.
I has used it (1.3.7) running debian (I miss debian) and it's not client / server model. For what ever reason it never recored the next day when I left it running all the time. I never looked into why, I switched to Linux Mint because it seem to have multi-media bundled with it's user friendliness, and then found your version.

Last week, someone proposed a patch. It should be in the PPA version soon.
