me-tv does not work anymore on Ubuntu 12.04 (solved)

edit: please disregard question. Problem solved by successfully switching to XBMC and TVheadend for watching DVB-T.

A once working me-tv Version 2.0.1-1 on Ubuntu 12.04 does not work anymore after installing (and later becaus of the me-tv problem deinstalling) of xbmc.

I have deleted .local/share/me-tv several times.

I get the following error messages:

1. I delete .local/share/me-tv

2. I start me-tv server

I had this before a couple of years ago. Only a complete wipe and set-up of the PC helped. I hope I can avoid it this time.

Hi Dieter,

The best way to get the last working version of me-tv is to use the PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~me-tv-development/+archive/ppa

The version 1.4.0 is the lastest one (newer then 2.0.1). I know it is kind
of confusing, sorry for that.

To uninstall your installation of me-tv, if you compiled it yourself, I
think you can do "make uninstall" to remove it.
