archlinux, prompt for scan

Asked by fabioamd87 on 2013-03-26

I've installed me-tv from AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/me-tv/
and w_scan also from AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/w_scan/
and linuxtv-dvb-tools: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/i686/linuxtv-dvb-apps/

my usb dongle is correctly supported and if I use w-scan to generate the channels.conf and give it to me-tv it works, but if I clean the me-tv config folder and start me-tv it doesn't ask to me for scan for channels but just a file to import that.

it's because if looks for w-scan binary name (ubuntu) where it is w_scan (archlinux) and can't find it?

please let's solve together this problem. :)

Hi,

Me-tv 1.3 had a scanner integrated but in version 1.4 you need to provide a
channels.conf.

When you clean the config folder, you delete the me-tv.db file containing
all the configuration, channels, EPG and more.

So when you start me-tv again, it can't find the config file so it generate
a new one and prompt for a new channels.conf.

I hope it help,
Cheers,
Fred
