getting me-tv 2.0.1 to work with dvico dual digiatal 4 dvb-t card in linux mint 12 x64

Asked by Mark Leeder

I'm having trouble getting me-tv 2.0.1 to work in linux mint 12 x64 using a fusionhdtv-dual-digital-4fusionhdtv-dual-digital-4 dvb-t card. I've basically installed the third party drivers for the card, installed the program.

When i start me-tv it comes up with that it wants to import a channels.conf file which is in the form of a txt file as far as i understand. I've searched the computer but there is no such file. I read elsewhere that i may have to create it but i have no idea how to do that as i'm just a stupid newbie that had been brainwashed by windows.

If there was a how to doc explaining what to expect when you install this software then it would be so much easier, you could call it me-tv for dummies. Anyway if anyone can help me then that will be good or i will have to go back to windows vista.

Being Windows brainwashed is, thankfully, not irreversible :o)

If you are new to me-tv, you should use the version 1.3.6 instead. It has a built in scan functionality. You can also generate your own channels.conf with the "scan" command:
