Stop on "Initialising table 'version'"

Asked by Matteo Trentin

Ubuntu version: 11.10
Me-tv version: 1.3.6

Hello!
I'm not able to start me-tv, it seems a database problem...

Intalled Me-tv via 'apt-get'.
When I start with the command: "me-tv -v" it stops on "Initialising table 'version'".
The full log is listed:
"

A work around was found. We put a virgin database file in place then start me-tv.

HI Dan,

I gave him an empty me-tv database file and he put it
in ~/.local/share/me-tv/me-tv.db.

When I'll get home, I'll send it to you.

Cheers,
Fred

Thank you very much for the db file.
It helped me get through "Initialising table 'version'".
But it seems, that there is another problem (posibly becase I use alfa development branch of the system).
I can tune the channels, but then when I finish adding the tuned channels, me-tv freeze.

Once again thank you for your help.

Is me-tv freezing or the picture ?

If it's me-tv, can you start it with the command: "me-tv -v > metv.log"
(without the double quote) and send me the metv.log file.

If it's the picture, follow the instruction in this FAQ:

I do like this:
* start me-tv
* because I have no channel in db, I see Me TV - Scan Wizard,
so, I import one channel from channels.conf (product of w_scan),
I choose channels.conf file, click to Next, select one channel,
   click to Add
* now I Me TV - Channels Editor
* my one channel is selected, so I click on the OK button

It was my last step, now I can do nothing. I see two windows
- Channels Editor and main window Me TV. When I move
to another virtual desktop and back (for example),
then I see these two windows only with window decoration,
but with nothing in them.

So I have to kill the application, for example with ctrl + c
from terminal. (So, nothing change in me-tv.db)

metv.log is here:
http://www.edisk.cz/stahni/32607/metv.log_8KB.html

When I don't import and don't tune any channels,
so I can using application without problem
(except that I have no channel):

Have a nice day.
