Failed to lock DVB-S2 channel

Asked by Roland Wammers

Hi there,

I'm currently running Ubuntu Lucid 64bit with Me TV 1.2.6 from the lauchpad ppa. Installed in my system is a Terratec Cinergy S2 PCI HD (+CI) pointed at Astra 19.2°E which works quite nicely for DVB-S (SD) channels using the current v4l-dvb drivers. As the channel scanning in Me TV seems a bit "incomplete" (not all channels are found - let alone DVB-S2 channels), I used w_scan to generate a complete channels.conf file - import into Me TV worked like a charm.

In Me TV, I now have more than 1000 channels, some of which are HD channels (DVB-S2). Unfortunately, none of the HD channels can be tuned to (I'm mostly interested in German non-scrambled channels such as ZDF HD and Das Erste HD).

Error messages:
1) "Failed to lock channel." (Translated)
2) "Failed to get display stream"

I'm suspecting that Me TV simply doesn't "know" that it should receive HD content since the imported channels.conf does not mark HD channels (H.264 and 8PSK) any different than SD channels. Using a newer format (VDR 1.7) channels.conf is not an option as Me TV doesn't understand this format at all.

Can anybody point me in a direction that could work? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Cheers,

Roland

Me TV does not support DVB-S2.

If I'm not mistaken, DVB-S2 is not available on the DVB API version that we are using.

Can you help with this problem?
