Where is the default Temporary folder?

Max encountered an error while importing a single 72 minutes long track, and stopped for that reason. I have now two problems I don't know where the 87% of that import are stored. They take space and I need it desperately ! Its the only recording which exists in the world, and 87% is much better than nothing... (A second attempt stopped at 57%...)
I couldn't find the file in any of the common temp folders, though obviously the space is occupied in the finder...
A better behavior of Max would b,e after not being able to rip, to ask if it should keep what it ripped till now...

By the way there doesn't exist any easy to find possibility to register for the forum...

Max stores its temporary files in the system default location for temp files if one is not specified in the preferences. If one is specified in the preferences, Max will use that one.

The system default is something like /var/folders/WE/LJHDFLJSHDU712-/-Tmp-
