Can I burn cuts that I cut short - say I only want the first half of the cut?

For a system voicing program, for some cuts, I only need a short part of the entire cut - say half, for example.

In the burning process, how do I truncate these cuts?

You can't do this with the current version of Max. Only entire tracks may be extracted, sorry.
