How do you share a folder on the local network in elementary OS?

In Ubuntu, right-clicking on a folder shows an option to share it and install samba if needed.
What is the procedure to share stuff on the local network in elementary OS?

Marlin has nothing to do with elementaryos.

Marlin is a development in progress and sharing a folder via samba isn't actually implemented.
