swich thunar to marlin in xubuntu

I fail to configure Marlin as default file manager in xubuntu

from the desktop continues to open folders with thunar.

button to set as the default file manager did not work

sorry i got no idea how the defaults are done in xubuntu or xfce (should be exo-something).

Its exo-preferred-applications, Utilities -> File managers ->Other and find the path to marlin (/usr/bin/marlin). That works for shortcuts on bottom panel, but not for everything else.

Yes its true, dosent work for shortcuts on desktop and panel applets on xfce (xubuntu 11.10). Only works for shorcuts on bottom panel

One could create a link of /usr/bin/marlin to /usr/bin/thunar, that way the Places menu will open marlin, not the desktop folders though. (And yes, this is not even a workaround, but just a cheap hack.)
