Why users aren't asked if they want to enable the feedback plugin when installing?

I asked about this IRC earlier today without anyone responding anything.

I am not Debian packager or developer, so I don't know how does one add questions to "dpkg-reconfigure" or the package installation, but I know it's possible as many packages including mariadb ask questions in them. If enabling the feedback plugin was asked during installation of the package, there would probably be more responders. https://mariadb.org/feedback_plugin/

When you install popularity-contest package or you are installing distribution that comes with it (like Debian), it asks you if you want to join and the data it collects is similar.

EDIT: Added the missing "doesn't", but now that log and IRC logs say different thing.

That would be an oversight, it absolutely should ask, just as popularity-contest does.

Yes, I did that, but forgot "doesn't". I'll fix that in the original question.

Should this be converted to bug report or is there one already?
