i have [no description available] for the Administrators

i have [no description available] for the Administrators, is it a problem of editing the aliases file ? i even can not see the descriptions when u create a new administrator and CLI and out put

root@intranet2:/usr/local/mailman/bin# ./newlist
Enter the name of the list: pt2
Enter the email of the person running the list: <email address hidden>
Initial pt2 password:
Hit enter to notify pt2 owner...

(got no aliase attributes)

I think you are talking about the listinfo and admin overview web pages, e.g. <http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo>. [no description available] means you haven't entered anything for description on the list admin General Options page.

After creating a list, you have to go to it's web admin interface or use bin/config_list to finish configuring it.

This has nothing to do with aliases. You may or may not need to do anything with aliases depending on your MTA and how it is set up.

In question #106768 you indicate you are using Postfix. If Postfix is properly set up per <http://www.list.org/mailman-install/node13.html>, alias maintenance is automatic.
