Cant' install on Ubuntu 14.04

Asked by Federico Cupellini

Hi!

When I try to install on Ubuntu 14.04 the MAGICK-INSTALL fails with the message "There are no package managers that are compatible with this installer. Please read INSTALLER.txt for manual installation instructions." and I can't manage to install through the manual installer.

Kernel: 3.13.0-24-generic

Ok. I made i work from console now by manually install the program. I used the latest in the experimental tree.

It's not that hard fedecupe. You should give it a try and install it manually. You even learn some stuff 'bout
Ubuntu. :)

Restarted my system: Works absolutly fine for me.

The only thing right now which is not working, are the system notifications in the right top corner if I turn my
screen or disable the touch over the icon.

Ok, I tried - as you did - to install the latest experimental version... with no luck...

The automated installer does not work, when I try the manual install I get this
"fede@fede-notebook:/usr/share/magick-rotation$ ./magick-rotation
Magick is using an App Indicator.
Please install 62-magick.rules in /etc/udev/rules.d.
See INSTALLER.txt in the unpacked magick-rotation folder."

What do I do?

@ fedecupe:

If you're in the directory with the extracted files do the following:

sudo cp 62-magick.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/

This copies the file to the right place. This is described in the installer.txt
starting in line 38

Greeting
