Rotating Navpad on Thinkpads

Asked by Ajay Chandra

I just installed Magick Rotation on my thinkpad x61T and it has been awesome! I had one question - has anyone thought of adding support for rotating the navpad on the screen bezel when the screen is rotated? If not does anyone have a script that would handle that issue? Thanks!

Hi Ajay,

That's too model specific to include in Magick.

However you could modify Magick yourself if you wanted to. If you work it out and want to we could add a FAQ for it.

This thinkwiki page has a script for rotating the nav buttons: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Wacom_Serial_Tablet_PC_Stylus It should at least give you an idea on how to do it, although you'll probably want to modify it quite a bit. It's down a bit under "Additional code for rotating the 4 navigation keys on the display frame." You'll also need to check with xev if the keycodes have changed.

The Rotation HOW TO: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=996830 might have some helpful ideas you could use.

Can you help with this problem?
