sdmm and vdmm in the g_star calculation

Asked by Bickendorf

Hi,
I've noticed while checking my calculations for the effective degrees of freedom, that the particles sdmm and vdmm with masses of 70GeV are included in the calculation by MadDM.
These are not in my model files. Right after importing the model I count 19 particles using 'display particles' while after adding my dm-candidate that grows to 21 and sdmm and vdmm suddenly appear.

So, whats happening here and why do both get included in the g_star?

Cheers

This due to some technical implementation of the direct detection.
Nothing to be worried here.

The thing that worries me is that those 8 degrees of freedom influence the effective degrees of freedom quite a bit, which in turn distorts the relic density.

Can you help with this problem?
