Expert mode : cross-sections after cuts

Asked by Avnish

Dear MA5 Team,

I am working on a process at the Parton level with leptonic colliders. Here, the final state consists of two dark matter candidates along with a photon. We are interested in the sum of the energy of all Invisibles as an observable for cut implementation. To achieve it in Normal Mode, if we redefine the definition of the Invisibles with PDG id of new particles, we get double entries per event in the histogram of E(invisible). This result is understandable as it is taking two DM candidates separately and not summing their energies. Is there any innovative way to achieve our objective in Normal mode itself?
Thanks to provided expert mode, I can define the new observable (at MC level) and get desired histogram with ROOT along with cut implementations. But here, I witness an issue regarding how to extract cross-sections after cut implementations. Could you please help in this regard?

Thanks a lot,
Avnish

You should use the keyword “met” (plot E(met)).

After running the code, you have access to the full information in the output folder.

Cheers,

Benjamin
