In which reference frame are differential distributions plotted?

Asked by Steven Jeremies

Dear MadAnalysis5 Team,

I read that in madgraph5 the data from the unweighted_events.lhe.gz files are generated in the CM-system.
If I use those files as the database to plot differential distributions in MadAnalysis5, are those in the CM-system as well?

Hi

If im not mistaken LHE file, given that its generated for a collision system e.g. proton-proton, should be in lab frame. BUT if you are writing LHE file for a decay, say h > l+ l-, that should result in CoM-frame LHE file.

Cheers
