Doubt regarding cuts

Asked by IPSITA RAY on 2019-04-09

Hi,

Can we apply cuts during the madgraph interface itself for eg. PT > 250 by editing the run card or so such that we have a reduced cross-section ? Like in madanalysis when we apply cuts , it gives a distribution and reduced number of events and since no of events = cross-section * luminosity , does it take the reduced cross-section by default or it takes the cross-section as imposed by the user ?

Thanks.

Hi,

I am not sure to have understood your message. MadAnalysis always starts from the inputted event sampels and the corresponding cross section. How could it do it otherwise?

Cheers,

Benjamin
