empty histograms

Asked by audiya fatihah

HI
I'm a beginner with MA5 and I apology if my question is trivial.

im doing an analysis on a BSM,
i created a .lhe file from MG5,
i imported the file and defined the new particle

ma5>define zp = 1023
ma5> import signal1.lhe.gz
MA5: -> Storing the file 'signal1.lhe.gz' in the dataset 'defaultset'.
ma5> plot M (zp)
ma5>submit

i can plot fine when i define this in MG5 after editting the madAnalysis card, but it doesnt seem to work when i import the .lhe file into ma5,

but when i plot the mass or any related to z or zp its empty, what might be the case of this?

thanks!

Hi,

Are you sure there is a final-state Z'? If the Z' has decayed, you need to add the 'interstate' option to tell MadAnalysis5 that the Z' is an intermediate particle.

Please let me know whether his helps. If not, I would need to see the event file.

Regards,

Benjamin

Hi,

It is in the manual. Just add 'interstate' as an option of the plot command.

Cheers,

Benjamin
