madanalysis and fastjet

Dear MA5 team,

I am using Madanalysis5 in order to perform an analysis at the reconstruction level for the process

e+ e- > j j a

where I put a tight cut on the pt of the photon.

The events are generated with mg5_amc and at LO and showered by pythia8.

the hepmc output is then read as a input by ma5 in reconstruction mode and the events are clustered through the fastjet package of madanalysis. I am using the kt-algorithm. These are the lines of the script I am using for the analysis

set main.fastsim.package = fastjet
set main.fastsim.algorithm = kt
set main.fastsim.radius = 0.4
set main.fastsim.ptmin = 20.0
set main.fastsim.bjet_id.efficiency = 0.8

set main.outputfile = output.lhe.gz

import ~/Work/MG5_aMC_v2_6_0/clic-jj-gam-heft-new/Events/run-1500/tag_1_pythia8_events.hepmc.gz as heft
import ~/Work/MG5_aMC_v2_6_0/clic-jj-gam-no-heft-new/Events/run-1500/tag_1_pythia8_events.hepmc.gz as no-heft

....

The problem is that after the clustering the photons are converted into "jets", and I am not able to plot any histogram regarding the photon distributions. I compared the LHE files produced by ma5 after the reconstruction with the one produced by mg5_amc at the parton level and looking at the momenta of the final state particle I can identify the photon in the second file, but it is converted into a "jet" (PDG code = 21). I tried to produce small sample of events for processes with either electrons or muons in the final state, such as

e+ e- > e+ e- b b~
e+ e- > mu+ mu- b b~

and I am facing the same issue, in both cases the leptons are converted into jets. Is there a way to leave leptons and photons as they are or, alternatively, is there a way to plot photon's distributions after the clustering?

I cannot reproduce your issue. Do you mind sharing a subset of 100 (pythia) events?

In addition to the pythia event fie I am enclosing some additional files
which might be useful to understand what is going on:

* analysis-clic-jj-gam-1500-test.py The script I used to generate
events and run the shower
* clic-jj-gam-test.py The script for madanalysis5
* output-test-100.lhe.gz The les houces file produced
by ma5 after clustering
* tag_1_pythia8.cmd The cmd card generated by
MadGraph
* tag_1_pythia8_events.hepmc.gz The pythia event file

Hi Stefano,

For some reasons, I cannot find any hard-scattering isolated photon in your pythia file. This is maybe the reason why MA5 does not find them as well. By the way, you have 1000 events in the pythia file, not 100.

For some reasons I messed up with the files when I created the tar.gz.
Sorry about that.

However I continue to have the same problem.

As I wrote in my first message, the photon after the reconstruction is

In the last mail I enclosed in attachment a tarball, and one of the files
was a sample of 100 events in hepmc format.
I don't know why the attachment is not visible on the Madanalysis webpage.
Anyway, I am enclosing it again as a google drive link.
As requested, I am also enclosing a smaller sample of 10 events.
