MadAnalysis 5

analyse output from MG5_aMC@NLO and pythia8

Hello,

I have produced .lhe files with MG5_aMC@NLO and showered the output with pythia8. The final output after showering is a root file with many classes, e.g: EventInfo_p4, EventID_p1, GenEvent_p5, GenVertex_p5, IOVMetaDataContainer_p1 ...
Is there any package in MadGraph can be used to read such an output or convert it to easier format?

I know how to do for the .lhe files using the ExRootAnalysis but I don't have an idea how is that after showering!

Dear Mazuza,

MadAnalysis 5 cannot be used (at least for the moment) to handle root files created by pythia. In principle, you could instead create an HEPMC output file. The latter can be analyzed in the usual way (and also converted to a reconstructed LHE file).
