ERROR MESSAGE

Asked by shibasipu

Hi Benjamin,
I was trying to analyse some root files obtained from standalone Delphes. But while importing the root files, it is giving the following error message. I am trying to fix this from morning itself. But note able to do that.

MA5: Reading commands from '/home/shibananda/RESEARCH/PACKAGES_USE/madanalysis5_v1.4/2HDM_scripts/2HDM_4lplus2b_root' file ...
MA5: ma5>import /home/shibananda/SHIBA_Running/2HDM_Running/14TeV/SAMPLE/ROOT_same/2HDM/gg2h2_4l2b_noCUT_mH800_mA400_14_standCMS.root as signal2HDM
MA5-ERROR: The dataset '/home/shibananda/SHIBA_Running/2HDM_Running/14TeV/SAMPLE/ROOT_same/2HDM/gg2h2_4l2b_noCUT_mH800_mA400_14_standCMS.root' has not been found or has a unsupported format.

NOTE : I have carefully checked the path to the root files in my script. I think there is no problem related to path.

Please suggest some help.

Regards,
Shiba

Hi Shiba,

Have you started ma5 in the reco mode (bin/ma5 -R)?

Cheers,

Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,
thanks. I have generated the .hep files from MG5+Pythia6. Then the .root files are generated by using standalone Delphes.

Shiba

Hi Shiba,

This is why it does not work. You need to execute delphes within madanalysis5.

Cheers,

Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,
now it is working. One thing, I would like to let you know that MA5 supports the root files obtained from standalone Delphes.

In my case, the mistake was while analysing root files, Delphes inside MA5 was disabled earlier. After enabling Delphes inside MA5,
MA5 successfully imports the root file.

Again, I am acknowledging your help.

Regards,
Shiba
