Accessing kinematic distributions related to anti-b quark

Asked by shibasipu

Hi Benjamin,
My parton level event contains one b and one anti-b quark. I am analyzing corresponding root files in MA5 normal mode. Is it possible to access the kinematic distributions related to anti-b quark ?

Shiba

Not really as you only have access to the reconstructed objects (that are either b-jets, or non-b-jets). However, in the expert mode, you can have access to the consituent of the jets and obtain the desired information (see the tools/SampleAnalyzer/Commons/DataFormat/RecJetFirmat.h file for more information).

Hi Benjamin,
thanks. Suppose, I want to select events those containing one b and one anti-b quark, then will the following command work ?

select N(b) = 2

Shiba

Hi Shiba,

That's correct. Note that will select events where the 2 b-jets originate from 2 b-quarks, 2 b-antiquarks and one b-quark and one b-antiquark.

Cheers,

Benj
