MT and MT_MET

Asked by lily

Hi,

I analyze the LHCO file with the user-friendly fashion of Madananlysis5 (version: Date : 2014/08/01, 1.1.12.1).

There are variables MT and MT_MET which should be relevant to transverse mass of system. For the two observales, I have some problem,

1. What are the differences between MT and MT_MET?

2. What is the maxmial number of particles allowed in the "MT" and "MT_MET"?

3. What are the expressions for MT and MT_MET? In which folder and file are the codes of the expressions for MT and MT_MET?

Many thanks.

Hi,

> 1. What are the differences between MT and MT_MET?
MT is the transverse mass of a specific system to be given as an arugment. MT_MET is the transverse mass of system comprised of a specific ystem and the missing transverse energy.

> 2. What is the maxmial number of particles allowed in the "MT" and "MT_MET"?
Infinity

> 3. What are the expressions for MT and MT_MET? In which folder and file are the codes of the expressions for MT and MT_MET?
They are both defined in tools/SampleAnalyzer/Commons/DataFomat/ParticleBaseFormat.h
