veto on PT

Asked by Waleed ABDALLAH

Dear Madanalysis Team,

In Madanalysis 5, How I do the following ?

1. veto on PT (j_2) and PT (j_3)

2. veto on e, mu, tau

3. veto on b-jets

Finally, in the presentation of Dr. Benjamine in the activity:

"2nd Taipei School on FEYNRULES-MADGRAPH for LHC physics
National Taiwan Normal University
September 04-08, 2013"

He said:

It improves a bit...
Can we do better?
(e.g., cutting on muons)

So, how I can do cutting on muons?

Thanks in advance

Waleed ABDALLAH

Dear Waleed,

I refer to the manual where you can find all the relevant information.

> 1. veto on PT (j_2) and PT (j_3)
For example, you can veto events where the pt of the second jet is heavier than xxx by typing
 reject PT(j[2]) > xxx
and so on for the third jet.

> 2. veto on e, mu, tau
> 3. veto on b-jets
You reject events containing any particle species by typing, for instance,
 reject N(xxx) > 0
where xxx is the relevant particle.

> [...] So, how I can do cutting on muons?
Well, it depends what you want to cut on… (pt, number, deltaR, etc…)

Cheers,

Benjamin
