Unable to start the m210-daemon

Asked by Giannis Avramopoulos

I have a Pentium III 1G memory with GeForce 6200 machine and i'm running OpenSUSE 11.2 Gnome. I'm trying to install Pegasus Mobile NoteTaker M210.

I have downloaded and unpacked the latest release m210.0.2 and I've checked that my system satisfies the requirements listed in m210-0.2/README.

I've builded and installed M210, following the procedure presented in "http://codegrove.org/projects/m210/index#other-systems".

I cannot execute the command "sudo start 210-daemon ". The problem is not "sudo" but the fact that there is no "start" commant in my system and I cannot install it from the distribution repositories, because they have no such command.

So I'm wondering if there is an alternative way of starting the daemon.

Thank you in advance.

start command is part of Upstart, a process management daemon which has replaced sysvinit in Ubuntu-distros. I should probably include sysvinit-scripts also in future release.

However, the Upstart-script only runs m210-daemon during system startup, so you could just run m210-daemon manually to start the daemon.

I'm releasing a new version very soon. Then m210-daemon will be replaced by m210d.
