Will LVPM recognise SATA ULi M5287?
Hi, I can't get boot the Kubuntu LiveCD (have checked Md5sum's and burned @ 4x)
As far as I can tell the boot process recognises my Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 Serial ATA (model ST3250823AS) as an IDE.
See my post on Kubuntu forums:
http://
The interesting thing is that both GPARTED and Parted Magic are able to recognise the drive correctly (which is how I partitioned the drive)
Under WinXP I need to the Uli M5287 drives which then makes XP recognise it as a SCSI drive (go figure...)
I've tried various boot options like libata.force
So my alternative is to load Kubuntu using Wubi (which I have done in the past) and use LVPM to migrate to the EXT3 partition I've set up.
BUT my worry is that I'll end up with the same problem (ie boot process thinking it's an IDE) and the XP MBR altered so I can't wuse either.
Thanks in advance,
LB
