unable to boot to ubuntu

Asked by Euan Marley

Following a discussion on wubi on Digg, I tried the installer on the goodbye-microsoft,com page of debian. When I realised it was an installer, i decided not to go along with it, but now only have the option of Windows xp or the debian installer, when I reboot. I can't get ubuntu, even though wubi is still in my windows partition. Is it possible to fix this, without having to reinstall through wubi from scratch?

backup C:\wubi directory (rename to C:\wubi_old, reinstall wubi (just the windows portion of the install procedure needed), then replace C:\wubi with C:\wubi_old to restore the install

When I tried reinstalling using the wubi download, wubi-7.04-test.exe it reinstalled, with a some of the problems I had added, including wine programmes still there. Some of the multimedia progs were missing but easily reinstalled. The few documents I had downloaded were intact. Thankyou
