ACPI=OFF

Asked by puppy linux fan

When running UBUNTU from the live CD I need to add the line ACPI=off, how can I do this in WUBI to allow the installation to take place? Right now when I reboot when WUBI asks me to it goes as far as saying Wubi boot but then errors out and never gets to the installation of the software. I did some research and I think it may belong in the Menu.LST but I am not sure if that is correct or what the correct syntax should be. I have always needed to disable ACPI regardless of what linux distro I have used.

Is this Wubi or Lubi you're talking about? Since you're asking in the Lubi launchpad page, I assume it's Lubi... To edit the menu.lst, go to /wubi/boot/grub/menu.lst, find towards the end the section that says "Ubuntu kernel 2.6.20-something" and on the line that says "kernel /wubi/boot/vmlinuz-something", add to the end, "acpi=off", save the file, reboot, and it should work
