Is this project alive? GRUB2 Compatible?

Asked by hackel

I was looking for a way to install Ubuntu to a disk image instead of creating a new partition, and found Lubi. It looks like this project is no longer being maintained. Did it ever support GRUB2? I wish to install Ubuntu 12.04 beta without partitioning. I already know how to boot the ISO directly from the hard drive, just need a way to install it to a loopmounted disk image. This seems like a great project for people interested in testing like me, would love to see it revived for that purpose alone.

No, I'm no longer maintaining this project, and no, it doesn't support GRUB2 either. If you test distributions so often, you may just want to boot parted magic and shrink you existing partition to create a new one (it's pretty safe and you won't lose data), or use Wubi if you have a Windows installation.

Can you help with this problem?
