Asked by Killabeez

when trying to load lottanzb, it says "the connection to hellanzb has been lost unexpectly. you might have to dhut down hellanzb on purpose or it has just crashed" asks me to reconnect or quit.. i have tried to install numerous times, i think maybe a full uninstall would be what i need to do to make it work, do you have a walkthrough on that? also if i click 'reconnect' it just keeps bringing back the quit or reconnect options. the LOttanzb window is still up, if i click on 'edit' and goto prefrences i get this error error accessing 'file:///home/killabeez/.hellanzb/done': File not found

Please help.
Thanks

Hi Killabeez,

this reconnect dialog is kind of confusing. In fact, the connection to the HellaNZB was never established as you can tell by the FatalError. We're currently working on a mechanism to handle such problems and bring the actual error message to the user.

The "Cannot continue program, required executable not found: 'unrar'" means that HellaNZB couldn't find the "unrar" program, which is required to automatically extract downloads. To get rid of this problem, you need to install unrar, which you can do either using

sudo apt-get install unrar-free

or

sudo apt-get install unrar (This one is not Open Source, but more powerful afaik)

I didn't know that HellaNZB would just refuse to start if the unrar executable doesn't exist on the system. We apparently need to add a dependency to future Ubuntu packages of LottaNZB and mention it on the LottaNZB website.

Thanks for reporting this!

These commands will only work if you're using Ubuntu, but I'm sure other distributions provide unrar packages as well.

Can you help with this problem?
