Possible to add somesort of launcher feature?

Asked by n0yd on 2007-11-14

I already posted this in the comments on your home page, but figured this would be a more formal place to pose this question.

Nice job on the new features, and the complete rewrite sounds like a good step in the right direction with this project. Thanks for adding in the bandwidth throttling like I suggested. :-) I just came up with another thing I was thinking about… Would it be possible to get LottaNZB to take input somehow, like if I’m on Newzbin, click “get message id’s”, then have it open the .nzb file with lotta.py, have it so it takes the nzb and opens up the “add an nzb” dialog box? That’d be a great little feature to have that would save me some time, so I wouldn’t have to save each nzb, open up LottaNZB, click add, browse for the nzb, and add it. Seems liek should be an easy enough thing to accomplish, with the little bit of coding experience I have. I hope it would be doable…

BTW, congrats on starting the Launchpad site, I had been thinking a real project site is just what LottaNZB needs. It should get the community a lot more involved in the development and hopefully make it easier for you to develop and get some other developers on board too.

Thanks for the comment, I too feel that it is the right place to make it.
I'm not very experienced with Launchpad as of yet, but I think that a proposal like this could be posted at "Blueprints". Please feel free to add it there!

You're totally right about it, I think that would be a good feature and I've been looking around a bit for the best way to implement this.

PS. In the meantime you can add the NZB by dragging from nautilus/whatever onto the download queue.

Thanks again. :)

Can you help with this problem?
